THOMASVILLE- MacIntyre Park Middle School proudly announces Roemello Coleman as the 2025–2026 Teacher of the Year, recognizing his passion for teaching, his meaningful connections with students, and his unwavering commitment to the school community.

Coleman, who teaches 6th grade Social Studies, has been an educator for just three years—all of which have been at MPMS. His journey into education began unexpectedly during a college internship at Bishop Hall while completing his degree in social work. That experience led to a powerful realization that his true calling was in the classroom.

“I had an epiphany that education might be the right path for me, rather than traditional social work,” Coleman reflected.

Known for his ability to connect deeply with students, Coleman brings a relatable and engaging energy to the classroom. His students often express surprise—and joy—when he understands the cultural references they share, creating a learning environment that feels current, approachable, and fun.

“Being younger has helped me relate to my students, and my personality strikes a balance between laid-back and firm,” he shared. “I try to be the voice of reason when it’s needed.”

One of Coleman’s most memorable moments was being voted Teacher of the Month by his students during his very first year of teaching—an early sign of the lasting impact he was already making.

“Teaching is by far one of the hardest things I’ve done, but receiving this admiration from my peers makes me feel like I can do anything,” he said. “This recognition means the world to me. It’s an honor not only for me but for my family name.”

Beyond the classroom, Coleman’s leadership, empathy, and positive influence continue to resonate with both students and staff.

Thomasville City Schools proudly celebrates Coleman’s dedication and leadership as he represents the spirit of excellence at MacIntyre Park Middle School.
