THOMASVILLE- After eight years of heartfelt leadership and unwavering dedication to the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce and the local business community, Executive Director Andrea Collins has announced her decision to step down from her role. While this news comes with a sense of bittersweet gratitude, it also marks an exciting new chapter for Collins, who is following her passion into the gig economy with a focus on interior design and consulting through Olive Orchard and Collins + Dixon Interior Design.
Collins’ journey with the Chamber began with a powerful question during her interview: “How will you bring value to the business community in Thomasville?” Over the years, Collins has not only answered that question—she has redefined it. Her tenure has been marked by tireless commitment, a bold vision, and a heart for service. Under her leadership, the Chamber became debt-free, expanded its membership base, and launched innovative programs that have laid a strong foundation for continued success.
“Reflecting on the past 8 years with the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce, I am filled with so much gratitude,” said Collins. “It’s been an incredible journey, one that has allowed me to build meaningful relationships and witness firsthand the challenges and triumphs of businesses as they’ve navigated their growing pains. I am deeply thankful for the unwavering support, guidance, and friendship of the staff and the Board of Directors—your belief in me and the work we do together has made all the difference. A heartfelt thank you to the community for your encouraging words and continuous support.”
As Collins steps into the next chapter, she said she is excited to pursue a diversified business in the gig economy, blending her passion for interior design with Collins + Dixon Interior Design, alongside a new role as a consultant with Olive Orchard, focusing on Emergenetics and strategic planning.
“It’s a new, exciting path forward, and I am thrilled about the opportunities ahead,” she said. “The time has come to pass the torch to the next leader of the Chamber, knowing they will continue to drive this community forward with the same dedication and passion. I wish them all the best as they lead with vision and strength. I look forward to continuing to contribute to this incredible community in new and meaningful ways.”
The Chamber’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors are fully supportive of Collins’ leap of faith and applaud her for embracing this new adventure. Her bold decision is a reflection of the same entrepreneurial spirit and courage she’s long encouraged in others.
“It’s a bittersweet moment as we accept Andrea Collins’ resignation as Executive Director of the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce,” said Chamber Board Chair Jackie Santoro. “While I’m genuinely excited for Andrea as she steps into a new chapter, it’s hard to imagine the Chamber without her steady leadership, unwavering commitment, and genuine passion for our community and its businesses. Finding someone who brings the same heart and dedication to the role will be no easy task. That said, I—along with the Executive Committee—am fully committed to identifying a strong leader who will build on Andrea’s legacy while continuing to grow and strengthen the incredible programs and initiatives that thrived under her leadership. I hope our community will join us in thanking Andrea for her service and in wishing her the very best in her next endeavor.”
Collins’ impact will be felt for years to come. The Chamber, its members, and the entire Thomasville-Thomas County community wish her continued success and fulfillment in this exciting new journey.
