TFR’s Honor Guard presents colors at Georgia’s Firefighters Recognition Day

THOMASVILLE- Thomasville Fire Rescue’s Honor Guard had the distinguished privilege of presenting the colors at the Georgia State Capitol during the 2025 Firefighters Recognition Day on Tuesday, February 4 in Atlanta. The Honor Guard is comprised of Tyler Bannister, Grant Latmore, Terrence Blake, and Victoria Coleman. Now in its 53rd year, Firefighters Recognition Day brings together state leaders, fire service professionals, and industry experts to honor the dedication and service of firefighters across Georgia.

“It was a great privilege for our Honor Guard to be invited to participate in such a prestigious event,” said Thomasville Fire Rescue Chief Tim Connell. “Their presentation of the colors at the State Capitol reflects the dedication and professionalism that defines our firefighters.”

Craig Dukes, Thomasville Fire Rescue’s Assistant Fire Chief, also serves as the 1st Vice President of the Georgia State Firefighters Association and played an active role in the day’s events, which included an awards presentation to outstanding firefighters. Later in the evening, more than 200 fire service members and legislators gathered for dinner and additional awards celebrating exceptional achievements in the fire service community.
