THOMASVILLE- Thomasville Humane is honored to announce that it has been named Nonprofit Organization of the Year at the 2025 Community Impact Awards, hosted by Imagine Thomasville. This prestigious award recognizes organizations that demonstrate outstanding fundraising, resource development, and exemplary community support while staying true to a clear nonprofit mission and vision.
“At Thomasville Humane, we believe our impact extends beyond animal welfare. It’s about strengthening our community,” said Executive Director, Chandler Giddes. “It’s about supporting people in difficult times, and making sure every pet and person has a chance at a better life.”
Thomasville Humane’s success stems from its innovative, community-driven programming, which prioritizes helping not only animals but also the people who love them. Through their people-first programs and initiatives the organization has expanded beyond traditional sheltering services, providing resources such as:
- Pet retention programs that help struggling families keep their beloved pets
- Community outreach and humane education, fostering responsible pet ownership
- Partnerships with local organizations, including schools, law enforcement, and other nonprofits, to integrate animal welfare into broader community support efforts
“This award is a reminder that this work matters. We are grateful to be a part of a community that champions us and values compassion, and action,” said Giddes. “Thank you for creating impact with us.”
As Thomasville Humane looks to the future, the organization is eager to expand its impact and find even more ways to serve the Thomas County community and beyond. The nonprofit invites individuals and businesses to be part of the solution by adopting, fostering, donating, or volunteering.
