CAIRO- Decatur/Grady 911 received a call regarding a reckless driver traveling on GA 112 North in Grady County on January 30, 2025. Deputies, on routine patrol nearby, were able to respond within minutes and observed the suspect vehicle driving erratically, swerving off the road, and narrowly avoiding a head-on collision with another vehicle. Additionally, the vehicle was found to have suspended registration.
A traffic stop was initiated, and upon contacting the driver, later identified as Kaci Lyn Marie Riordan, deputies immediately detected signs of impairment. Field sobriety tests were administered, where Riordan performed poorly on the tasks. As a result, Riordan was arrested for DUI by Controlled Substances and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration.
A subsequent search incidental to the arrest revealed a quantity of Fentanyl, along with evidence indicating the controlled substances had been recently used.
Riordan, of Cairo, was arrested and charged with possession of Amphetamines, possession of Fentanyl, possession and use of drug-related objects, driving a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, DUI – Controlled Substances, and failure to maintain lane.
Riordan was transported to the Grady County Detention Center where she was booked in.
