Favorable 2025 schedule for Yellow Jackets

THOMASVILLE – Thomas County Central’s pursuit of a region football championship next season will follow a similar path to the 2024 squad.
The Yellow Jackets will play the same 10 opponents that they played in 2024, but eight of those games will be at different locations. Central’s 2025 home schedule includes non-region games against Monroe, Florida State University High School, and Thomasville, and against region foes Lee County, Northside-Warner Robins, and Houston County. Central’s road trips will be at Cairo, Bainbridge, Veterans, and Coffee.
It’s a favorable schedule for Central with two potentially big financial home gates against Thomasville and defending region champion Lee County, and only two long road trips to Warner Robins (Veterans) and Douglas (Coffee).
“Those two games (against Thomasville and Lee), we’re going to draw our crowd but then you’re going to draw the opponent’s crowd. The Thomasville game is a gate that’s just phenomenal every year. That’s why you’ve got to make sure you play that game,” Central coach Justin Rogers said. “The Lee game, two years ago when we did it, it was a huge gate as well. Those will be big financial games for us.
Central will play at Lowndes in the preseason scrimmage.
The dates for the games have yet to be finalized, as the Georgia High School Association still has not announced the key dates for next year’s football season.
Central has only lost one regular season game in Rogers’ three years as head coach.
The Yellow Jackets are still looking to schedule an opponent for a spring game. Central’s spring schedule will start in the last week of April and last until May 16.
