THOMASVILLE — Tyson Anderson had 21 points, and Dijmon Wheeler added 14 as the Thomasville Bulldogs captured their third straight Region 1-AA title with a 61-49 win over Early County on Friday night.

The win was the ninth straight for the Bulldogs.

The Thomasville girls stifled Early County in the second half to take a 42-21 win in the girls championship game.

The Lady Bulldogs held the Lady Bobcats scoreless for a 12-minute stretch in the second half. 

Both Thomasville teams will open the Class AA state playoffs at home.
