Pavo will be hosting its third annual Car/Truck Show & Swap Meet at the Pavo Peacock Center on Sept. 3.
According to Jimmy Brock, president of the Pavo Civic Club, there is going to be a lot of cars and trucks, but also a fun-filled time for those in attendance.
From live music to face painting, Brock was confident there’d be something for everyone.
“It’s going to be a fun filled day, with lots of shopping, great food, music, dancing,” he said.
Opening at 8 a.m., Brock said that there is an 60s theme for the event, with all attendees encouraged to come dressed in their best costume inspired by the cultural decade.
“This year’s theme is going to be a 60s theme,” Brock said. “So, you can feel free to dance, you know, come in and dress in your 60s outfit and we will be giving a trophy to the best dressed.”
Judging for the car show will begin at 11 a.m. and will be handled by Premium Car Shows and their auto enthusiasts based in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Awards will be handed out at 2 p.m.
“They will have, like, 46 Best In Show awards, 12 Overall Best awards, and then the Civic Club itself will be giving away a People’s Choice award and a Mayor’s Choice award,” Brock said.
The People’s Choice award will be decided by popular vote amongst the attendees during the event, while Mayor’s Choice will be decided by Mayor Marvin Bryan.
In addition, there will be a quilt raffle held during the car show, with proceeds going to the K9 unit of Boston according to Brock.
Interested car owners can register at PremiumCarShows.com. There is a $20 entry fee. For more information, contact Jimmy Brock at 229-264-1486.
