THOMASVILLE – Thomas County Central’s softball team (3-3) opened Region 1-6A play on Tuesday with a 10-0 shutout of Northside-Warner Robins (WR) in five innings.
Laney Mobley notched the win for the Lady Yellow Jackets, pitching five innings and allowing just three hits with five strikeouts.

Mobley had more than enough run support, as Central scored five runs in the first inning, three in the third and two in the fourth. Central tallied seven hits and capitalized on five Northside-WR errors.
Gabrial Miles paced Central’s offensive attack with two hits, two runs and two RBIs. Mobley, Jaida Pinkins and Leah Miller each added two RBIs for Central.
Central will play at region foe Veterans on Thursday.
THS ROLLS: The Thomasville Lady Bulldogs improved to 6-2 with a 17-0 rout of Region 1-3A foe Monroe in three innings on Tuesday. Thomasville scored 12 runs in the first inning and five in the second to cruise to the region win.
Matti McDougald notched the win for the Lady Bulldogs, recording five strikeouts and allowing just one hit in three innings. Daylee Beaty finished with two hits and two RBIs. CeCe Myers and Myla Still each added two RBIs as well.
Thomasville will host Monroe in a doubleheader on Thursday, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
