Earlier this year, Envision Credit Union launched a coat drive.

“At Envision, we support not only the teachers and staff but the students too,” they said in a press release. “This year we are launching Envision’s Coats for Kids, a new community initiative to collect coats for children in the community.”

Although Envision is based in the south, they knew the winters could bring freezing temperatures and that coats are an expensive item that may not make the cut.

“That is why we want to keep our kids warm this winter,” they said.

Envision collected new kids’ coats in dropboxes through October 31, before distributing them to the community.

Through their collections at their branches and the local library, they received 275 coat donations.

“With the help of Thomas County Schools, Envision’s team was able to distribute donations to children in need of proper winter gear,” they said. “Envision is proud to continue its mission of supporting education by making sure local youth can stay warm and safe this winter season.

Envisison also wanted to thank everyone who donated coats, saying with the freezing weather coming in, this initiative has made all the difference in the world to the community they serve.
