THOMASVILLE- Thomasville Times- Enterprise employees Jill Holloway and William Huff have been named Regional Editor and Sports Editor, respectively.
Holloway will be joining Regional Publisher Laurie Gay at the Post- Searchlight, as she was promoted to Regional Editor for Bainbridge and Thomasville.
Holloway previously worked with the Post- Searchlight from 2017-2022 as a reporter and Managing Editor, before moving to Thomasville. She is also thrilled to return and help serve the community she loves.
“I could not be more grateful for this opportunity,” Holloway said. “Bainbridge will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was my first job. The idea that I get to return there and help develop the newsroom and train future reporters is beyond exciting.”
Holloway began her career at the Post- Searchlight in 2017 as a reporter and was later named the Managing Editor in 2021 after being named the Georgia Press Association Weekly Division Emerging Journalist Award winner. In 2022, she moved to Thomasville, where she worked as the Editor of the Thomasville Times- Enterprise and Magazine Editor of Valdosta Scene, Thomasville Scene, Tifton Scene, and Moultrie Scene.
The Post- Searchlight current Managing Editor Ethan Reddish will maintain his position, as Holloway works alongside him to produce quality content for both the paper, special editions, and Bainbridge Living Magazine.
Huff has been named the Sports Editor for the Thomasville Times- Enterprise.
Prior to joining the TTE, Huff was a sports blogger, before becoming a reporter at the Clinton Courier in Clinton, Mississippi. He later joined ESPN Radio, utilizing his background in broadcast communications from Mississippi State University.
After years in Mississippi, Huff moved to Thomasville in 2022, where he covered four high school sports teams, including the 6A state championship TCC football team.
Since joining the team at the TTE, Huff said he has loved watching the town come together through football.
“In Mississippi, it was always Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and high school football was just kind of something you did on Friday nights,” he said. “Coming here, it’s very different. People are bigger Thomasville and Thomas County Central fans than they are Georgia or FSU fans, and it’s been a lot of fun to watch the fandom.”
Huff said he has also enjoyed getting to know the coaches and creating relationships with them.
Now that he has been named Sports Editor for the TTE, Huff hopes to continue those relationships, while expanding content through varying platforms, including more video.
He acknowledged this will not be an immediate change, as football season can oftentimes lead to an overwhelming amount of content and he wants the coverage to be quality and well thought out.
“During basketball season and baseball season, you’ll see me trying new things with video content, especially video interviews,” he said. “I have lots of ideas in the works.”
Holloway is excited to see Huff’s plans come to fruition and continue to support him on an as-needed basis.
“I’ve enjoyed working with Will and love all the ideas he’s brought to the plate since he started here,” she said. “I think this is a much-deserved promotion, and I look forward to seeing what he does next and helping him out in any way I can.”
Gay is also excited to see Holloway and Huff flourish.
“I’m excited to see Will and Jill continue to grow in their leadership skills as they work to provide excellent coverage for our readers,” she concluded.
