Angry named to succeed Tillman as THS boys hoops coach

THOMASVILLE — Kiel Angry has been named as the next head boys basketball coach at Thomasville High School.
“We are excited to have Coach Angry and his family lead our program in the future and look forward to working with him as he continues to build on the rich tradition of the Thomasville High School Bulldogs,” said athletic director Jeremy Rayburn.
Angry, a native of Smithville, is a 2001 graduate of Lee County High School. He attended Carson-Newman College and earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education. After graduation from Carson-Newman, he began his coaching career there as a graduate assistant.
From there, he became an assistant coach at Greenwood (S.C.) High School. Coach Angry came to Thomasville in 2006 as an assistant football coach and he became an assistant basketball coach in 2012 under Ben Tillman. Angry was named the boys basketball coach at MacIntyre Park Middle School in 2016.
Coach Angry is currently the administrator of Thomasville City Performance Center and the athletic director for MacIntyre Park Middle School. He is married to Adrienne, a fifth grade teacher at Scott Elementary. They have three sons, Sedrick, Sedarius, and Kiel Jr., and a niece, Asia. Coach Angry is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
The selection committee of Rayburn, THS Principal Brian Beaty and city schools Superintendent Dr. Raymond Bryant Jr. interviewed three candidates for the position following a comprehensive screening.
An introductory press conference scheduled for Monday, July 18 at 10 a.m. in THS gymnasium.
