The Thomasville History Center invites all current members, and new members, to join them on an excursion to Andersonville National Historic Site on Saturday, March 12.
The center has designed an adventure it believes balances the exclusive, guided tour experience that many enjoy, with the independent exploration that others appreciate. Participants will meet at 10 a.m. at the National POW Museum where they will receive a special introduction from park staff. After exploring the museum, attendees will enjoy a picnic lunch, provided by the History Center. At 1 p.m., participants meet up for a Ranger-led tour of the prison site. Attendees can then explore the National Cemetery on their own or start the journey home to Thomasville.
