THOMASVILLE — The Thomas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a burglary suspect who eluded deputies Thursday night.

Deputies said they identified Roger Hamilton as the suspect connected to a burglary that occurred at a local home on January 5. 

Surveillance video captured the moment the suspect stole televisions, a children’s bike and more items from the home Wednesday afternoon.

When deputies located the suspect, he immediately fled. 

“We went to his place of employment last night and as the deputies were approaching, he went out the back door,” Capt. Tim Watkins, Thomas County Sheriff’s Office chief investigator, said.

Deputies were, however, able to recover the car used during the burglary.
