COVID-19 cases still on the rise across the state

As of Friday, more than 21,860 Thomas County residents, 49% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 53,190 doses of vaccine have been administered to Thomas County residents, according to the state Department of Public Health. In all, 36% of Thomas County residents have received full vaccination and an additional dose. 

Grady County has had more than 25,580 vaccines administered, with more than 10,710 people, 43% of the population, being fully vaccinated. According to the state DPH, 32% of Grady County residents are fully vaccinated and have received an additional dose.

Statewide, there have been more than 1.5 million confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 26,523 deaths and more than 96,640 hospitalizations.

More than 14.2 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.8% for positive results. 

The state has issued more than 13.57 million vaccinations, and 53% of all Georgia residents, more than 5.55 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
