UPDATE: Arrest made of suspected shooter

- Law enforcement personnel search Thursday morning for a suspect who reportedly fired a rifle at an officer during a traffic stop. The suspect, identified as Harold Deshawn Alexander Jr., was caught around 1 p.m.
THOMASVILLE — A suspect wanted for apparently shooting at a Thomasville police officer early Thursday morning has been arrested.
Initial reports indicate the suspect, identified as Harold Deshawn Alexander Jr., was found in a shed near the intersection of Fletcher and Bartow streets.
Thomasville police officers cordoned off an area near Harper Elementary School as they searchedr.
According to the TPD, an officer made a traffic stop at 5 a.m. and the driver jumped out of the vehicle with a rifle and fired at the officer. The officer was not hit. The suspect ran.
TPD also says there was one other subject in the car who was taken into custody at the time of the incident.
Among the agencies assisting the TPD were the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office, Grady County Sheriff’s Office, Boston Police Department, Leon County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
