THOMASVILLE — The Thomasville High School Bulldogs have wrapped up their 2023 season. This season was an up and down one for the Bulldogs, who finished with an overall record of 6-7-3.

When speaking on the season as a whole Head Coach Robert Peterson said, “I think we played well. We just played inconsistent at times and I think that cost us in a couple of games.”

Despite the up and down season, the Bulldogs played very well against their regional opponents. With shut out wins over Monroe and Dougherty, the Bulldogs finished 4-1 in their region, landing them in second place.

Thomasville’s defense was also solid this season. The Bulldogs only allowed more than three goals in two of their losses. They also recorded four wins in which they allowed one goal or fewer.

“Overall I’m pleased with the way they’ve played, how they’ve worked and the way they’ve come together,” said Peterson.

Heading into the playoffs, Peterson continued to speak on his team’s need to be consistent saying, “Overall, I think we just need to play consistent throughout the game. Going into the playoffs, we just have to put it together in both halves.”

The Bulldogs second place regional finish will see the team take on Peach County in the first round of the playoffs. Peach County finished their season 11-6, but were an even 4-4 in regional play. The Trojans finished their season on a five game win streak that included a 4-3 overtime win over Mary Persons. The Bulldogs will take on Peach County in the first round of the playoffs on their home field on Wednesday at 6:00 pm.
