Town hall to host a forum on local schools

Are the two school systems in Thomas County the best they can be for the community’s kids?

The public is invited to discuss this question with community leaders and informative panelists at a town hall at 6 p.m. Monday, April 10th, in the Thomas County Library’s Flipper Room.
The non-partisan event will be the first in a series of “Town Hall: Thomas County Conversations” being sponsored by the Thomas County Democratic Party on critical issues in the local community.
Special guest Andrea Collins, executive director of the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce, will give remarks prior to the presentation by the panel, which will be moderated by Nathaniel (Nate) Tyler. Earl Williams III will be the event’s host.
The event will include a question-and-answer period and time for discussion.
The panelists are:
• Lisa Billups, executive director of the Thomasville Community Resource Center, who has a background in early childhood education.

• Ucher Dent, a behavioral and mental health counselor and executive director of No More Shackles.
• Audrey Linder, a Workforce Development professional.
• Jeremy Rich, an educator and pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church of Thomasville.
• Stephan Thompson, a concerned citizen.
