- READY FOR A MAKEOVER: Tori Hancock, RN, poses in her new building on W. Jackson St. that will soon be home to Electric Beauty Co.
THOMASVILLE — Downtown Thomasville will soon be adding to their thriving business mix with the opening of Tori Hancock’s Electric Beauty Co.
Housed on 218 W. Jackson Street in Suite 213, Hancock envisions combining her love for art, cosmetology and nursing all into one place.

Currently a registered nurse in the operating room at Archbold, Hancock also holds a cosmetology license.
“I didn’t want to totally give up nursing, because it is something I love, but I wanted to get back into cosmetology too,” she explained.
But, what combines nursing and cosmetology?
Hancock will be offering powder and ombre brows, lip liner and lip blushing, micro blading and 3D nipples and areolas.
“In doing the cosmetology, I got into aesthetics as well, before getting my RN license,” she said. “I’ve worked a lot with plastic surgeons and oncologists and when women undergo mastectomies there’s often no nipple and so I can give them a 3D nipple and areola.”
Hancock said she has seen firsthand how women react to nothing being there once a mastectomy is over and this gives them some sense of their femininity back.

Upon undergoing a mastectomy, women often feel nothing in that area of the breast, allowing Hancock to reconstruct a 3D nipple and areola using only numbing cream in a matter of hours.
“I want it to be as comfortable as possible,” she said. “I worked briefly at Colquitt Regional Hospital and have been in talks with the plastic surgeons there, who are willing to share my services with women undergoing reconstructive surgeries.”
Hancock realizes there is nothing like this currently in Thomasville and is unaware of a location in Tallahassee, so she is also speaking with plastic surgeons there, who are looking to refer reconstructive surgery patients.
“I’m just trying to get the word out there,” she said. “I’m both nervous and excited, because helping people is in my nature, but I just never expected to be a business owner and have my own place.”
Hancock also sees her beauty company as a place others, who may have Alopecia or lip pigmentation fading, can come and feel comfortable.
“If they don’t have hair to grow eyebrows, I can tattoo on eyebrows, or for women who have lost some of that pigmentation in their upper lip, I can do a lip liner and give them a more full look,” Hancock said.
Hancock did remind interested clients that these services are a process, as brows can take 2.5 hours, while lips may take up to 3 hours.
Because of the nature of the work, Hancock did say that appointments will be required. She is currently taking appointments, as she looks to open mid-late June.
When the beauty company opens, Hancock said clients can expect to see an artistic building filled with serene music, giving a spa-like experience.
“I want it to be a place everyone from every walk of life can feel comfortable,” she said. “I don’t want anyone to feel tense; I want everyone to be at ease, especially women undergoing the 3D nipple and areola construction, as they are exposed in a way they aren’t usually.”
Looking forward, Hancock is excited to begin helping the community through her cosmetology work. To book an appointment or inquire about services, Hancock can be reached at 229-977-3849.
