Special tours of the grounds and outbuildings at Pebble Hill Plantation planned

THOMASVILLE — Pebble Hill Plantation is offering a series of very special guided tours of the historic Grounds and Outbuildings on the main campus of the 3,000-acre 20th century sporting estate. These tours will allow guests to see Pebble Hill as they’ve never seen it before.

Pebble Hill’s Program Coordinator, Kitty Spivey, and Thomas County Middle School Georgia History teacher and Pebble Hill docent, Brenton Smith, will lead these small group tours of the historic Grounds and Outbuildings.

These tours are rarely offered and promise to be fun and informative. Included in the tours will be the Pump House, the Laundry Facility known as “The Waldorf”, Fire House/Nurse’s Station, the Kennel Cottage, the Log Cabin School, Family Cemetery, the Dog Hospital, and the unique and charming Noah’s Ark structure.

Guests will also tour the Stable/Dairy Complex and meet Pebble Hill’s horses. A stop at the Learning Center will be included in the tours. Each spot on the walking tour has a fascinating story of its own.

These guided walking tours of the Grounds and Outbuildings are offered June 30, July 27, and July 28th. The tours begin at 10:30 a.m. Tickets are $16 for adults (ages 17 & older) and $8 for children (ages three to 16). Children two years and younger are admitted free. Space is limited for these tours.
