Warriors rally late to win 52-51

The Brookwood Warriors rallied late in the fourth quarter in a come-from-behind 52-51 victory. 

Coming into the game, both the Eagles and the Warriors were evenly matched.

The Eagles got off to a fast start and looked to set the tone throughout the game. 

The Eagles had a 19-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. 

In the second quarter, the Eagles and the Warriors upped their level of intensity throughout the game. 

The Eagles’ point guard Bryson Carter was having his way against the Warriors early on. Carter was getting everything at the rim, and his play was motivating his teammates. 

Midway through the second quarter, the score was tied 23-23. 

The Eagles went on a 6-0 run closing the second quarter and started to take control of the game. 

The Warriors were in a good position to play a better half and take control of the game. 

At the start of the third quarter, the Eagles and Warriors knew they had to play a complete game if they wanted to win the game. 

The Warriors best players stepped up coming out of halftime. Players such as Stafford Davis, Chris May, and Jordyn Jean played well in the third quarter. 

The Eagles started the quarter with better ball movement leading to good high-percentage shots for the Eagles. 

Both teams were going back and forth and doing everything they needed to do to win the game.  

The Warriors had corrected their adjustments and played a better defensive game against Bryson Carter. 

The Eagles were turning the ball over, and the Warriors got easy points in transition. 

At the end of the third quarter, the score was 38-38, and the game came down to the fourth quarter. 

The fourth quarter came down to which team’s best players would play better down the stretch, and who made the right plays at the right time.  

Jordyn Jean and John Mark Irvin traded threes midway through the fourth quarter. The Eagles were up 46-44. 

Moments later, Chris May drove to the basket and got fouled and managed to steal the shot in and made the free throw to give his team a 1-point lead. 

The Warriors went on a run and took a 52-49 lead with 8.6 seconds left in the game. 

The Eagles stole the ball and got fouled and made both free throws to make the lead 52-51. 

With 4.2 seconds left in the game. The Warriors took out the ball and threw a full-court heave, and turned the ball over and the Eagles attempted a full-court shot and missed it. 

The Warriors won 52-51.
