November 11, 1921: Exactly three years after the end of World War I, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is dedicated at Arlington Cemetery in Virginia during an Armistice Day ceremony presided over by President Warren G. Harding.
November 12, 2004: Scott Peterson is convicted of murdering his wife Laci and their unborn son.
November 13, 1982: Near the end of a weeklong national salute to Americans who served in the Vietnam War, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is dedicated in Washington, D.C. after a march to its site by thousands of veterans of the conflict.
November 14, 1960: A court order mandating the desegregation of schools comes into effect in New Orleans, Louisiana. Six-year-old Ruby Bridges then walked into William Frantz Elementary School, accompanied by federal marshals.
