THOMASVILLE- Brookwood School has partnered with The Social Institute for the past two years. This partnership allows Brookwood to equip students with the skills they need to navigate their social worlds, online and offline, empower student voice, and strengthen school culture.
Through a positive, student-centered approach, The Social Institute provides a game-like, online learning platform that empowers students to navigate their well-being, social media, and tech in ways that will fuel their health, happiness, and future success. Their work has been applauded by Melinda Gates and featured by Today, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times.
Last week, Brookwood juniors and seniors attended a presentation on social media mastery. Students discovered the power of social media as a tool for securing internships and connecting with mentors. They learned how to build a standout Linkedin profile that captivates colleges and employers alike, explored insights on personal branding on Linkedin and networking techniques on Handshake, and gained an understanding of how to leverage social media to showcase their achievements and leverage its powerful networking potential.
With the Social Institute, faculty and staff learned firsthand how technology can enhance classroom experiences. The interactive presentation shared practical ways to integrate AI tools into the professional careers of Brookwood employees for even greater success and ease.
Lastly, parents were invited to attend a presentation on how to proactively empower their children to navigate social media and technology in healthy, high-character ways. The refreshing, practical, and eye-opening presentation about parenting in the digital age flipped the script and encouraged positive social media and tech use.
