CAIRO — The Lady Makers softball team has been impressive this year, winning back to back region championships with a win over rival Bainbridge. The young women who make up this powerhouse team are being recognized for their stellar play in the region.

In total the Lady Makers had eight different players named to All-Region teams. Anna Rae Thompson, Makaya Logue, Breanna Jordan and Jada Vickers were all named to the All-Region first team. Megan Meadows, Josie Noriega, Allie Persing and Abby Faircloth were named to the All-Region second team.

With a top team usually comes a top coach and its no different in Cairo as head softball coach Randy Adams took home the Region 1-AAAA coach of the year award.

The Lady Makers were led on the bump this year by pitcher Mallory Lyons, who was awarded the All-Region pitcher of the year award.
