Thomas County COVID-19 case total tops 3,900

As of Monday, more than 15,890 Thomas County residents, 36% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 32,970 doses of vaccine have been administered.
Grady County has had more than 15,100 vaccines administered, with more than 7,370 people, 30% of the population, being fully vaccinated.
The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,911 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 118 deaths. There also have been 385 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 152 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 1,685 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 51 deaths and 194 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 53 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 922,300 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 18,675 deaths and more than 66,400 hospitalizations.
More than 9.4 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 9.5% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 15,092 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 8.67 million vaccinations, and 40% of all Georgia residents, more than 4.15 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
