Archbold system sees uptick in COVID-19 positive tests

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there are seven COVID-19 positive patients at its facilities.
There have been 105 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week across the Archbold system. The system has had 1,001 new negative results. Eight people were admitted to Archbold facilities in the last week for COVID-19.

The system recorded two deaths from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were four COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital. There were there three COVID-19 positive patients at Grady General Hospital, and none at either Brooks County Hospital or Mitchell County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID-19 positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
Archbold wil host a vaccine clinic for those age 5 and older January 5 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. in Williams Auditorium at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
As of Tuesday, more than 21,640 Thomas County residents, 48% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 51,920 doses of vaccine have been administered to Thomas County residents, according to the state Department of Public Health. In all, 32% of Thomas County residents have received full vaccination and an additional dose.
Grady County has had more than 24,990 vaccines administered, with more than 10,630 people, 43% of the population, being fully vaccinated. According to the state DPH, 28% of Grady County residents are fully vaccinated and have received an additional dose.

The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 6,125 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 162 deaths. There also have been 550 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 41 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 2,473 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 68 deaths and 245 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 32 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 1.36 million confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 26,277 deaths and more than 92,490 hospitalizations.
More than 13.9 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.1% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 64,334 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 13.2 million vaccinations, and 53% of all Georgia residents, more than 5.49 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
