Services for Martha Emily Sheffield Cadwell are at 11 a.m., Friday, July 4, 2008, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Cairo. The Rev. Drew Billingsley will officiate and interment is in Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge. Mrs. Cadwell, died July 2, at Capital Healthcare in Tallahassee, Fla. Born Sept. 19, 1923, in Boydville, to Walter Coolie and Hattie Lee Thompson Sheffield. She married Bert Preston Cadwell and they raised their family in Bainbridge. After her husband’s death, she moved to Crawfordville, Fla. In Bainbridge and in Tallahassee, she worked in medical offices in accounting and medical record positions. She was very active in her Rebekah Lodge, serving as everything from financial secretary to Noble Grand. She served as a literacy volunteer in Wakulla County. She loved her family and crocheting, especially sharing what she made. One of her greatest joys was teaching Sunday School and she did that most of her adult life. She was a member of Shady Seas Church. Survivors include her daughter, Emily Cadwell of Crawfordville; sons, Bert Cadwell of Crawfordville, Walter (Scrappy) Cadwell and wife Kathy of Chipley, Fla. Andy Cadwell and wife, Christy of Cairo; daughter-in-law, Jean Cadwell of Statham; grandchildren, Sean and wife, Elisa Cadwell and Samantha Cadwell of Statham, Clay Cadwell and Scott Cadwell of Pensacola, Fla., Michael Cadwell and wife Kathy of Pace, Fla., Sam Billingsley and wife, Shauna of Fair View, Tenn., Kay Reynolds and husband, Shane of Dacula, Drew Billingsley and wife Sarah of Quitman; great- grandchildren, Rachel, Joshua, Michael and Joseph Cadwell and Sheffield and Susan Reynolds.
