COVID-19 case totals and vaccination totals keep growing

As of Monday, more than 19,450 Thomas County residents, 44% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 41,620 doses of vaccine have been administered to Thomas County residents.

More than 22,340 people, 50% of the county’s population, have received at least one dose.

Grady County has had more than 19,980 vaccines administered, with more than 9,340 people, 38% of the population, being fully vaccinated.

The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 5,797 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 145 deaths. There also have been 459 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak. 

Thomas County has recorded 486 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH. 

The state DPH has recorded 2,231 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 61 deaths and 213 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 132 new cases in the last two weeks. 

Statewide, there have been more than 1.19 million confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 21,426 deaths and more than 78,370 hospitalizations.

More than 11.2 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.6% for positive results. 

Statewide, there have been 61,564 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
