Thomas County COVID-19 vaccination totals continue to climb

As of Monday, more than 15,180 Thomas County residents, 34% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 31,510 doses of vaccine have been administered.
Grady County has had more than 14,410 vaccines administered, with more than 7,000 people, 28% of the population, being fully vaccinated.
The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,684 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 116 deaths. There also have been 364 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 22 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 1,620 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 50 deaths and 189 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added eight new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 902,700 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 18,469 deaths and more than 64,900 hospitalizations.
More than 9 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 9.6% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 3,678 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 8.2 million vaccinations, and 38% of all Georgia residents, more than 3.9 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
