Archbold system records five new positive COVID-19 cases in last week

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been five new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 507 new negative results. One person have been admitted to Archbold hospitals in the last week for COVID-19. The system record one death from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were three COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital, and none at Grady General Hospital, Mitchell County Hospital or Brooks County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
The system also has administered 20,252 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Tuesday.
The Georgia Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,489 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 112 deaths. There also have been 341 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 24 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 1,504 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 45 deaths and 171 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 15 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 851,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 16,533 deaths and more than 58,600 hospitalizations.
More than 7.7 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.6% for positive results.
The state has issued nearly 3.7 million vaccinations.
