Thomas County COVID-19 vaccinations top 22K

The Georgia Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,445 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 107 deaths. There also have been 337 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak. 

Thomas County has recorded 72 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.

The state DPH has recorded 1,484 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 43 deaths and 170 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 25 new cases in the last two weeks. 

Statewide, there have been more than 826,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 15,526 deaths and more than 56,600 hospitalizations.

More than 7.2 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 11% for positive results. 

The state has issued more than 2.2 million vaccinations. As of Friday, there had been nearly 22,600 vaccines had been administered in Thomas County. Grady County has had more than 3,380 vaccines administered.
