State reports new COVID-19 positive tests down to 28 for last two weeks

The Georgia Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,468 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 108 deaths. There also have been 339 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak. 

Thomas County has recorded 28 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.

The state DPH has recorded 1,491 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 45 deaths and 169 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added six new cases in the last two weeks. 

Statewide, there have been more than 843,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 16,145 deaths and more than 57,900 hospitalizations.

More than 7.6 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.7% for positive results. 

The state has issued more than 3.2 million vaccinations, with 1.1 million of those being a second dose of a two-shot vaccine. As of Monday, there had been more than 26,580 vaccines had been administered in Thomas County, with more than 11,400 being a second dose. Grady County has had more than 4,910 vaccines administered.
