Bulldogs sweep Cook in twin bill

THOMASVILLE — The Thomasville Bulldogs took a Region 1-AA doubleheader from Cook on Friday, winning the first game 4-2 and taking the nightcap 3-2.
Jace Lowe drove in two runs in the opener, while Isaac Richardson went 3-for-3 with one RBI. Witt Wetherington was 2-for-3 with a double and knocked in a run.
Jacob Jordan went 5 2/3 innings, striking out 11 while allowing just three hits. Jadon Lirette went the final 1 1/3 innings, notching two strikeouts.
In the second game, Jordan’s two-run single in the bottom of the sixth snapped a 1-1 tie.
Jordan had two hits, as the Bulldogs were held to just three for the game.
Gabe Duncan struck out nine and allowed one earned run while walking four and giving up just four hits. Ben Rawlings needed only one pitch to record the final out and preserve the victory with the tying run on third base.
