Archbold system vaccine totals surpass 25K

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been 26 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 615 new negative results. Four people were admitted to Archbold hospitals in the last week for COVID-19. The system did not record a death from COVID-19 in the last week.

As of Tuesday, there were four COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital, and none at Grady General Hospital,Mitchell County Hospital or Brooks County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.

Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or Pelham Parkway Nursing Home. 

The system also has administered 25,367 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Tuesday.

As of Tuesday, 9,990 Thomas County residents, 22% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 21,260 doses of vaccine have been administered.

Grady County has had more than 9,500 vaccines administered, with more than 4,520 people, 18% of the population, being fully vaccinated.

The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,536 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 113 deaths. There also have been 347 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak. 

Thomas County has recorded 30 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH. 

The state DPH has recorded 1,532 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 46 deaths and 173 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 23 new cases in the last two weeks. 

Statewide, there have been more than 876,100 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 17,421 deaths and more than 61,100 hospitalizations.

More than 8.2 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.3% for positive results. 

Statewide, there have been 13,896 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks. 

The state has issued more than 5.89 million vaccinations, and 24% of all Georgia residents have been fully vaccinated.
