Never Lost, a local nonprofit organization, is on a mission to bring the community together in support of safe, stable, nurturing environments for all children and families during National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.
Never Lost partnered with Prevent Child Abuse Georgia to form a local council, Prevent Child Abuse South Georgia, in 2020. Prevent Child Abuse South Georgia operates as an affiliate program of Never Lost, bringing community awareness and resources to support children and families.
Founded in 1994, Never Lost has helped over 3,500 children find stability after being removed from their homes due to traumatic abuse and neglect.
“Never Lost has been a source of hope and stability for children who have experienced abuse and neglect at the hands of a trusted adult,” said Never Lost executive director Wendy Greene. “We have expanded our current programs to include prevention services through Prevent Child Abuse South Georgia. Every child in our community deserves to grow up in a safe, nurturing home.”
In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Never Lost has partnered with local businesses and other child welfare organizations to plant blue pinwheel gardens all over Thomasville. The Pinwheels for Prevention campaign shows the role a community can play in ensuring happy and healthy childhoods for all children.
