CAIRO — A longtime member of the Cairo Planning Commission was honored last week in a special presentation by the Cairo City Council.
Larry Brown, who served on the Cairo Planning Commission for nearly 10 years, died this April at the age of 63. Council members took a moment Monday to pause to honor and remember Brown, who died in April.
City Manager Chris Addleton, who knew Brown personally for more than 30 years, presented an honorary plaque to Brown’s family.
“I’m honored to consider that he was my friend,” Addleton said.
The plaque honors Brown “for his faithful service to The City of Cairo Planning Commission” for nine years.
Brown was first appointed to the Planning Commission in 2011 and re-appointed in 2015.
