Marguerite Neel Williams Boys & Girls Clubs announced it has been selected to receive a $4,000 grant as part of the Live Más program from the Taco Bell Foundation.
Since 1995, the Taco Bell Foundation has granted almost $50 million to approximately 300 Boys & Girls Clubs. The grant’s program helps and empowers the youth to explore and prepare for their future.
The donation will enable MNW Boys & Girls Clubs to continue its work of providing post-secondary educational and job readiness for its teen members through programs such as Career Launch, Money Matters and Diploma 2 Degrees. Such experiences include college visits and tours, job shadowing at local businesses and money management.
More than anything, Teen Center Unit Director Saundra Austin wants teenagers who graduate from the Teen Center to have a plan for their next step.
“I always get excited and proud to see our Club alumni doing great things here in the Community and this grant will help pave the way for our current teen members who are destined to also do great things. Our goal is to continue to develop and prepare our teens for their future,” said Mrs. Austin. “This grant has allowed us to expand our college prep and career programs which will help deepen the impact on their lives and help them reach their full potential.”

About MNW Boys & Girls Clubs
The Marguerite Neel Williams Boys & Girls Clubs’ mission enables all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. With three locations serving youth ages 6-18 in Thomas and Grady counties, MNW Boys & Girls Clubs purposefully promote the health, social, educational, vocational and character development of boys and girls. The Club strives to give children the opportunity to successfully navigate the obstacles of their childhood. Most of the Club’s programs and activities are conducted weekdays after school, and provide a safe and structured place during the times that children are most likely at risk of harm and getting into trouble.
