CAIRO — President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign will swing through southwest Georgia next week as one of his senior advisors visits Cairo.

John Pence, senior adviser to Trump and nephew of Vice President Mike Pence, will visit the Grady County Republican Party headquarters next Wednesday, September 9, at 7 p.m. to speak with the president’s supporters.

“We’re excited to be hosting John Pence,” said Brandon Phillips, chairman of the Georgia Republican Party’s 2nd District, which includes Grady County. “This is a big get for southwest Georgia and shows how important this region is to re-electing President Trump and Vice President Pence.”

The party’s Broad Street headquarters, the site of several recent visits from candidates for local and statewide office, will be disinfected the day before Pence’s visit. Chairs will be arranged six feet apart for the event, and personal protective equipment will be made available to all attendees upon request.

Pence’s visit, which was initially planned for last month before being scrapped hours after it was announced, is billed as a “MAGA Meet-Up” — designed to energize support at the grassroots level in Trump’s re-election bid.
