THOMASVILLE — Dr. and Mrs. Jim Story, directors of the Rose City Run Events, have cancelled the 2020 43rd annual Rose City Run Events for the health safety of the walkers, runners, Thomasville YMCA employees, the volunteers and city and county employees and health care workers — all who have a role in the success of these events.
Last year, 1,282 registered for the events from nine states, representing 60 towns and cities. With the spectators and the above listed individuals, there are more than 2,000 individuals involved. Therefore, the directors are cancelling this community event.

The 2021 43rd annual Rose City Run Events are scheduled for April 17, Rose City 5K Walk and April 24, Rose City 10K Run and Rose City One Mile Run.
If you have pre-registered for this year’s events, you have now been registered for the 2021 event.
If you don’t have a walking or jogging program now, this time of isolation and separation is a good time to start with your goal to participate in the 2021 Rose City Run Events.
This is truly a community event and the directors thank you for your continued support.
“I still know of no other town or city that sponsors a walk or run for its citizens. It is another of the many city-sponsored events that makes Thomasville ‘a place apart,'” Dr. Story said.
