Salvation Army offers drive-through food pantry

The Salvation Army of Thomasville has begun a bi-weekly drive-through food pantry, in order to limit interactions between volunteers and staff and those receiving assistance.
The Salvation Army of Thomasville has seen a significant increase of need in emergency assistance because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Over the past few days, they have distributed 354 emergency food boxes to serve 1,410 individuals. That is over a 2,000% increase from its normal weekly average.

“Disasters are disasters for everyone they touch. Anyone who is in need of food is welcome to come and get a food box from us,” said Lt. Juan Reyes.
The Salvation Army of Thomasville will continue to offer opportunities and services to its community, while supplies last. The drive-through food pantry will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m.-12 noon (or until daily supply lasts), located in the back parking lot of The Salvation Army of Thomasville at 514 N Madison St.
