• The Bryant, Maxwell, and Williams families will be having their annual family reunion, July 28 at the Reno Community Center in Reno. All family members are invited to attend for an afternoon of fellowship. Bring a covered dish or two and any family memories to share. • The 65th annual reunion of the descendants of Charles Palmer-Elizabeth Lee will be held on Sunday, July 28 at Mizpah Primitive Baptist Church located in upper Grady County off Highway 112 north. The Palmer reunion business session with election of officers for the next two years will begin at 11 a.m., followed by lunch in the fellowship hall. All family members are encouraged to attend. • A Health Care Fun Day, sponsored by Primary Care of Southwest Georgia and Thomasville-Thomas County Homeless Coalition, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Aug. 10 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. • The narcotics/vice division of the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office is accepting old or unused prescription medications from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at 921 Smith Ave. The contents of the pill bottle should be emptied into a resealable plastic bag. Leave liquids, gels or creams in the original container and place into a resealable plastic bag. Scratch out all personal identification. Injectables, syringes, any item used for diabetic tests, inhalers and thermometers will not be accepted. Call 225-3300.
• Celebrate Recovery is a 12-step Christ-based recovery program meeting every Tuesday at Victory Fellowship Church. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., with meal at 6, large group meeting at 6:45, 7:45 are small group meetings. The church is at 19150 U.S. Hwy. 19 N, Thomasville.

• The Parents Advocacy meeting will be held on Mondays, 6 p.m., at the Frederick Douglass Complex Library. All who have a vested interest in the Thomasville City Schools system and taxpayers are encouraged to attend.
• The Thomasville Aviation Museum’s “Power of the Past” exhibit, featuring antique aircraft engines, is open each Sunday from 1-6 p.m. at the Thomasville Regional Airport. Appointments can be made by calling 226-3010. No admission charge.
• The Thomasville Multiple Sclerosis self-help group meets at 6 p.m., the third Tuesday of every month at the Plaza. • July 1-26 — Kevin Curry: Tripping Over the Same Stone at the Thomasville Center for the Arts Downtown. This event is an exploration centered on the mobility and authorship of memories, language and objects — a dialogue reflective of the intersection and location of place in our lives. Curry employs sculpture, photography, traditional media and digital fabrication technologies in investigating how we navigate through and within the geography of experiences.
• July 19 — Rhythm & Roots is bigger, better and bolder than ever. Born during Due South Art Food and Music Festival, this musical series has taken on a life of its own. It will be held at the Thomasville Center for the Arts landmark theater for an evening of music, storytelling and song. The highlight of the evening will be the showstopping musicians and songwriters. Guests will also have access to a cash bar for refreshments and libations. • August 2 — First Friday offers free admission and fun for the whole family from 6 to 10 p.m. What is First Friday Sip & Stroll? It’s a great night to come downtown and sip, stroll, shop, dine and listen to some great music. Participating shops and restaurants will be open late, and the concert will be held from 8 to 10 at The Ritz Amphitheater, 131 S. Stevens St., featuring Bleu Burden. This gives you time to shop and dine before the concert. Bleu Burden is a local band that originated on a front porch in Thomasville. • September 6 — First Friday offers free admission and fun for the whole family from 6 to 10 p.m.What is First Friday Sip & Stroll? It’s a great night to come downtown and sip, stroll, shop, dine and listen to some great music. Stevens St. This gives you time to shop and dine before the concert. At 8, The Honey Hounds take the stage for a soulful September show. • Sept. 23 — Cinema for a Cause will be held at Gateway Cinemas. This day only, 100 percent of the proceeds from all movies and all concessions benefits United Way of Thomas County. Come out to see a great movie for a great cause. For more information contact (229) 228-0560
• Sept. 26 — Thomasville Entertainment Foundation opens its 2019-20 season with an evening with Sutton Foster. The two-time Tony-winning actress/singer/dancer fills the hall with her rich and joyous vocals in this cabaret performance featuring Broadway and pop music favorites. • Sept. 28 — The Treehouse’s third Annual Farm to Fork Dinner will be an evening of farm fresh food — locally grown produce and meats, locally crafted beverages, live music and more. Come see The Leftovers band live and enjoy food prepared by Southern Bleu. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Treehouse Children’s Advocacy Center which provides vital forensic and advocacy services to victims of child abuse and sexual assault in Thomas County — free of charge.
