Take the time to vote in the runoff
Published 8:00 am Wednesday, November 20, 2019
There are two runoffs of note in our communities. One is in Cairo for a city council seat there. The other is in Thomasville for a city council seat.
If you are a registered voter in the district served, you can vote in the runoff.
In Cairo, incumbent Lannis Thornton and challenger Ann Williams are running for Thornton’s District 1 seat.
In Thomasville, the city council District 1 seat is up for grabs between Nate Tyler and Wanda Warren, both newcomers to the political process.
Early voting started Monday morning for the two races. It will continue through Friday for each race in each city. In Thomasville, early voting will be done at the Thomas County Elections and Registration office at the Thomas County Judicial Center on Madison Street. Early voting in the Cairo runoff is taking place at the Grady County Board of Registrars office on 3rd Avenue NE.
