Alpha Kappa Alpha members honored with awards, recognitions

The ladies of Lambda Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated recently attended and participated in competitions at the SARC held in South Carolina and garnered several awards and recognitions.
Dr. Mary Williams Scruggs was named a Golden Soror, which signifies fifty years as an Alpha Kappa Alpha member; Nikki Williams and Monica Austin were named Silver Stars, which denotes 25-year membership; Udella Spicer placed second in the Irene Westbrook McCollum Golden Soror Award; Mazie Wilson placed first in the Carolyn House Stewart Silver Star Award Category. Mrs. Imogene Conyers received the Lucretia Payton-Stewart Guiding Torch Award. These honors are significant because they are confirmation of the hard work and dedication that these women demonstrate in the community.
