Reddick told police he fired a shotgun at his nephew, who was being disrespectful to a family member, according to reports. Birdshot struck the 19-year-old victim in the side.

Reddick was taken into custody, taken to jail and detained to be interviewed, said Lt. Toby Knifer, Thomasville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division commander. Reddick was released from custody.

“At this time, he has not been charged with anything,” Knifer said. “It’s an ongoing investigation. Further details will come as the investigation continues.”

The shooting victim continues to receive treatment at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
