EUSTIS, Florida — Hurston Waldrep struck out nine and gave up just two hits in seven scoreless innings, and the Thomasville Bulldogs baseball team finished its Florida swing with a 4-0 win over Eustis on Thursday.

Waldrep threw just 87 pitches and issued only one walk. He allowed just two singles and did not allow a runner past second base. He also started a game-ending 1-6-3 double play.

Maylon Cochran’s groundout brought in the first run in the third inning, and Gabe Duncan’s double in the fourth made it 2-0. Duncan beat the throw home on a grounder to shortstop to push the lead to 3-0, and a wild pitch enabled Thomasville’s final run to score.

The Bulldogs finished with just five hits at the plate off Eustis pitchers Blayne Romano and Hunter Brodway.

Thomasville improved to 18-4 with the win.
