TIFTON — The soccer season came to an end for the Tift County Blue Devils Wednesday night.

The Devils fell at Pebblebrook, 2-0, in the first round of the GHSA Class AAAAAAA state tournament.

Head coach Bobby Earls said his Devils trailed by one goal at halftime. Jonathan Escobar barely missed a second half breakaway shot.

Earls estimated that goalkeeper Rosendo Ramirez had at least 15 saves.

“He played great,” said Earls.

Tift finishes with a 10-6-2 record. The loss ended a streak of five consecutive wins.
