Individuals will be able to navigate through the fair with various non-profit organizations set up with information to learn about how they can be utilized as a volunteer.

“This is an event that people can quickly walk through and see what non-profit organizations are available to them,” said Julie Mitcham, advocacy coordinator with Coastal Plain CASA. “They can volunteer a small amount of their time and make a huge impact. There’s something to be said about community members coming together, working together, for a great purpose. I think our communities need more people volunteering for the betterment of their town and making lasting differences.”

The Volunteer Recruitment Fair is a great opportunity for people who want to give back to their community and are looking for ways to give their time for a greater purpose, Mitcham said, adding that this event would also benefit any company that requires volunteer hours for their employees to learn the many choices of how they can obtain those hours.

People from the surrounding counties, Irwin, Tift, Turner and Worth Counties, are welcome to attend.

The event will be held on August 30 at the Tift Regional Event Center at 1657 Carpenter Road in Tifton from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
