Many Moody AFB services closing for Bush day of mourning

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE — Much of Moody Air Force Base will be closed Wednesday, the day of former President George H.W. Bush’s funeral.

The 23d Wing will observe the national day of mourning.

This day will be treated as a federal holiday with only mission-essential personnel reporting for duty (those that maintain the health, safety and protection of Department of Defense personnel and facilities), according to statements from the base. 

• The commissary will operate normally (9:30 a.m.-6 p.m.)

• The dining facility will be open from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4:30-6 p.m. There will be no midnight meal.

• The Fitness Center will have 24-hour Common Access Card access available.

• The Moody 23d Medical Group will be closed.

• The Child Development Center will be closed.

• The Youth Center will be closed.
