VALDOSTA – The Valdosta Garden Center will hold its 58th Antique Show this month.
The show and sale is scheduled for 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sept. 21-22; 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Sept. 23, at Mathis City Auditorium, 2301 N. Ashley St., organizers said.
The annual event provides the Garden Center with funding to support and maintain the landmark Crescent. The Crescent is a historic, fully restored, 1898 home and garden complex located in the heart of Valdosta at 904 N. Patterson St. and is open for tours, according to Garden Center members.
Fifteen dealers will be coming from seven states with a wide verity of goods, organizers said. There will be silver and crystal but also fine porcelain, china, estate jewelry and chandeliers.
One unique dealer carries a line of vintage purses and accessories, organizers said. For visitors looking more to the modern side, there will be small furniture, works of art, driftwood, gourds, costume jewelry, lots of collectibles and fine handmade wooden bowls.
At 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, Dave Richards, a retired veterinarian, will demonstrate the art of wood-turning.
Four gift baskets with outstanding entertainment packages will be offered this year by the Garden Center. A $10 donation will give people the opportunity to win the following:
• Basket No. 1 Crescent Experience: Crescent Event Rental, $100. Gift certificates from each Covington’s Catering, Wes Sewell Photography, Natures Splendor and The Crescent Keepsake Ornament.
