THOMASVILLE – After suffering just their third loss of the season to Southwest Georgia Academy to end 2024, the Lady Warriors got off to a rousing start in 2025. Behind the scoring prowess of Ainsley Jacobson, Brookwood stomped Westwood on Friday night 47-17, then traveled to Albany to secure their first region win of the season in a 49-37 victory over Deerfield-Windsor.
Jacobson was a force to be reckoned with in both games. The Brookwood senior combined for 34 points, 18 rebounds, six assists, and four steals.
Westwood was a far less threatening opponent, but Jacobson saved her best for the Lady Knights. She dropped 20 on Brookwood’s first region foe of the season, nailing five threes. Senior Carriyona Williams also got involved with 11 points and five boards against the Lady Knights.
Against Westwood, it was Morgan Boggs who served as Jacobson’s running mate. The senior secured seven points against the Wildcats while also recording four steals in the game. A total of eight Lady Warriors had multiple steals against Westwood, combining for 25 in the game.
These most recent wins move Brookwood to 10-3 on the season, making them one of two teams in the region with a winning record. The Lady Warriors are in prime position for a region title with Terrell Academy being their toughest competition. Terrell is currently undefeated, sitting at 11-0 with a solid win over SGA on their resume, the team that has handed Brookwood two of their three losses this season. Brookwood has a few games before they face Terrell, including a third game against SGA, a region matchup with Tiftarea, and a cross-town trip to Thomasville.
